I. Warm up: video games:
· How many genres of video games can you name?
· How are some of these genres unique and different from the others?
· What are some more examples of games?
· Choose 1 or 2 examples of games or video games. What are their rules?
· What kinds of games are popular now?
· What were some games that were popular in the past?
· What makes a good game?
· Are games good for you or bad for you?
· Are games in the present better or worse than games in the past?
· Now it’s time to create a game, in your group think about:
· What format will your game be in?
· What genre will your game be?
· What will be the theme of your game?
· What will your game look like?
· What will be the name of your game?
· How will people play your game? What are the rules?
· What kind of music/sound effects will it have?
· How will the controls work?
II. Review homework: Make
- 1 compound sentence using new vocabulary and connectors and, but, so, yet, and
- 1 complex sentence using the connectors although or despite.
Students read out their sentences, correcting as required.
III. Reading: In the News 11-2: Review HW: parts 1 and 2; do the rest
NO computer use is permitted.
V. Listening 11: The Legend of Shigeru Miyamoto (if time)
